"Michael at Happy Hands runs a very professional service with comprehensive lesson packs to assist with home study in addition to engaging, interactive lessons via Zoom. At the end of each one on one lesson I have come away learning more than I thought possible in an hour! As with all language learning, it is important to practice between sessions and Michael provides challenges that are fun and interesting and make you want to learn. I am delighted to have found Michael and definitely recommend him as a BSL teacher."
"Michael is brilliant. Really friendly and puts you at ease. I've learnt so much in such a short time. Would highly recommend!"
Rebekah loves helping children to learn to communicate effectively through the use of sign language.
She has qualified as an Early Years Practitioner and holds the NNEB, NVQ 4 in Childcare and Education and a TEFL teaching qualification.
She has worked with children for over twenty five years in a variety of childcare settings, during which she worked with children who use sign language to communicate. She has also worked as an Educational Needs coordinator in one of her roles.
She now uses this experience to teach our younger learners the basic signs necessary to communicate with their friends at school and family members. These fun lessons are a great introduction to sign language and many have gone on to complete their Level 1 after this course has been completed.
"Rebekah is such a patient and kind teacher. My little boy loves his lessons with Teacher B! He practices his signs all the time and is able to communicate with his cousin who is deaf."
"My daughter is learning sign language as there is a student in her class who is deaf. Although she was shy at first, Rebekah drew her out and was very patient with her. Now she comes home from school and tells me all about her new friend."
